Removing subdirs in KDevelop projects

First, thanks for all the previous help!

Now, on to the next problem:
How do I remove a subdir from a project?  I have removed all of the files
from the project, and can delete the files from the subdir without problem.
I cannot, however, delete the subdir.  I get makefile errors that the subdir
does not exist.

I have tried editing the makefile.in and configure.in files, as well as the
project.kdevprj file.  None of it works.
