./configure --with-kde-dir has no effect

Hi,

does anybody have a configure.in or acinclude.m4 that enables the usage
of the parameter "--with-kde-dir=..." ?

All versions I have seen just accept that parameter without complaining,
and then ignore it (also the template I got from kdevelop). The only way
I found to force a specific KDE directory is through setting KDEDIR :-(

(I currently would like to have that for my project, but it also would
be nice to have this feature in kdevelop)
