Hmm - not sure - I think you're right but we're a bit late now to do it for 
this release. This behaviour should be the same for kwrite as well, so that 
will be the place to solve this - can you run it by the kwrite maintainers.

I'm sure I've fixed this yesterday. I tried your steps and it works for me. 
Can you update and try again?
