2 problems with 1.4 latest beta

I just upgraded recently and have one complaint and one bug

Finding in a file highlights the text rather than selecting it. This
should be an option for the person who prefers to replace using F3
rather than the Replace dialog.

Still having problems using F9 to run an app. This has been a problem
with 1.3 as well, but I finally figured out a way to reproduce it
easily:
1) create new project - custom project - I named it kdevelop for
simplicity
2) in root dir: vi Makefile; put one line - all:
3) cd kdevelop;
4) ln -s /usr/bin/kdevelop .
5) in kdevelop hit F9

stderr says:
/bin/sh: ./kdevelop is not a directory

If I go to Project options and change the binary path to
./kdevelop/kdevelop it says:
/bin/sh: ./kdevelop/kdevelop: Not a directory

The only way to make it work is to use an absolute path. I have seen
this problem with other projects, but could never reproduce it. This
was not a problem in kdevelop 1.2. I am using Mandrake 7.2 upgraded to
kde2.1 beta2.
