Bug: message window set read-write while build

Just tried it.... doesn't *seem* to have any adverse effects... and the 
colours are still there. Haven't much time tonight but will scan through the 
ChangeLog tomorrow and let you know if I turn up anything... otherwise looks 
OK to uncomment the setReadOnly(true) line..
