What about kdevelop 1.2 and kde 2 ???/more general

This is the most frequently asked question in the KDE world at all. :)
You wouldn't ask, if you read the KDevelop handbook (also available online).
The error message tells you that are using a Qt version older other than your project needs.
Set the right Qt or KDE version in Options->KDevelopOptions->Path.

Set this in your environment:

export KDEDIRS=/opt/kde2:/opt/kde
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/kde2/lib:/opt/kde/lib
export LIBRARY_PATH=$LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/kde2/lib:/opt/kde/lib
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/kde2/bin:/opt/kde/bin
export KDEHOME=$HOME/.kde2

Install the kdelibs of KDE1 as well as KDE2.
