Kdeveop 1.x libtool problems with linux/ppc

I'd like to bring it to attention that Kdevelop 1.1
and 1.2 have problems linking because of the libtool
that kdevelop's configure makes. I've only bypassed
it, not fixed it. kdevelop might actually run fine
with these warnings but since the experience of a
similar problem with qt plugin for licq(in the 0.7x
series) which was fixed. to get kdevelop 1.1 to work
i just copied in the libtool from licq's qt-gui plugin
and it worked. this is what happens during some of
the linking:
*** Warning: This library needs some functionality
provided by -lXext.
*** I have the capability to make that library
automatically link in when
*** you link to this library. But I can only do this
if you have a
*** shared version of the library, which you do not
appear to have.
that's only 1 of them.. there's others for the other
system libraries that are linked.
this is what configure does that is not right i don't
think:
checking how to recognise dependant libraries...
file_magic ELF [0-9][0-9]*-bit [LM]SB (shared
object|dynamic lib )
i'm going to compare the two libtools and see if i can
get any clue what the small difference is to cause
libtool to not be created correctly. other than
that... kdevelop works great on linux/ppc boxes. keep
up the good work
  -Jeremy
