How to place a kdelnk.....

I'm trying to place my application, which I consider a multimedia
application, under Multimedia in menu.
That means I have to get the myapp.kdelnk file copied into
$(kde-appdir)/Multimedia/myapp.kdelnk.
I don't know exactly how to do this. I found myapp.kdelnk under
"Project/File Properties". So I changed the install directory from
$(kde-appdir)/Applications/myapp.kdelnk to
$(kde-appdir)/Multimedia/myapp.kdelnk. What else do I have to do? Because
when make the .tar.gz file and install it on another computer it still ends
up under "Applications"....
