kdevelop 1.1 crashing X on an Ultra 1

I can only tell that I had troubles to get X running on my HP Omnibook -
at least KDE. I had to edit the startkde script from SuSE, while a
self-compiled KDE 2 worked great. It may be an error in the frame buffer
though, although the fb I used on the laptop before I got the svga
server to run worked ok with KDevelop.
