OT: Pictures in SGML

I was looking all day yesterday after information how to place images in
sgml.
I didn't find anything usefull except the dtd file with the definitions
which you can find
in: /usr/lib/sgml-tools/dtd ...I think. I believe I tried the <IMG
SRC="mypic.jpg"> tag without success.
"img" is included in the dtd file though.
