Stop button doesn't work

Hi,
when I compile a project (F8) and then try to stop
the process by clicking the stop toolbutton (or selecting
stop from the menu), it seems that nothing happens.
(I'm on cvsup from 26.03.2000)
Even if I kill kdevelop, it doesn't stop. 
It stops when it reaches linking stage.
