As yo may have noticed, the KDK package is much bigger than the KDevelop
package ;-) so the KDK package contains KDevelop plus all the KDE progs
that are needed for development as kdoc, kdbg (which is optionally as
kdevelop now has its own integrated debugger) and ktranslator plus the
KDE library documentation. Getting KDK probably saves you from a lot of
beginner troubles when you are someone that doesn´t like reading docs
