wishlist -- vim-like editor interface

Being a user of the Happy Hacking Keyboard (arrow keys are not
convenient), and a current user of vim (vim interface has claimed
neurons in my brain...), I'd really like to see an option for toggling
the editor interface mode (windows (current default), vim, ed
(kidding!), emacs, etc.)
