handling of select/copy/cut/paste buffers for mouse and keyboard

Hi,
would it be possible to handle select-copy-paste analog to other editors
like nedit, where two different buffers are managed:

1) buffer for cut/copy by keyboard action (Ctrl+c, Ctrl+x, Ctrl+Einfg,
Shift+Einfg,...)

2) buffer for text which I select with mouse, and which is inserted at
the pointed position on click on the middle mouse button

As I see it in kdevelop, both buffers are merged to one, or am I wrong?

Maybe this could be handled by an editor option.

P.S.:
I wanted to report my ideas to handle deletion on insertion at first. 
But the new snapshot (kdevelop20000128) handles it like I want it (and
like nedit does it).
