an old message mysteriously reappeared on mailing list

I sent the message below on Dec. 20th and I got lots of useful replies, for
some reason it reappeared on the mailing list today Jan. 6th.
I don't know why.  I assure you I did not resend it.

Please ignore it, and if anyone can figure out why it was reposted, I'd like
to know.
