I also like the splash screen, however I would like to suggest that it
disappeared after a single mouse click.
The reason is simple: When I start Kdevelop, I can basically start
using it after I closed the "tip of the day" dialog (which I wouldn't
miss), which appears behind the splash screen - therefore partially
hidden. I know this is not a bug, just a bit annoying.

Another idea: Is there a list of packages necessary to use Kdevelop?
Often from the error message I realize that I'm still missing
something. Yesterday it was 'xgettext', which I could eventually find
in the SuSE package 'gettext'. (Don't laugh at me, it seems to me
hard in SuSE to find to which not-yet-installed package belongs a
given file)
Also this way we could define a minimum configuration for using
Kdevelop. (For others not having several GB partitions for Linux).
