That is not true. Redhat 6.1 DOES support every KDE and QT application, you
only have to know, which packages to install. The rpm package you should have
installed is qt1x-something.rpm and qt1x-devel-something.rpm.
The only problem with RH6.1 is, it uses the new QT libs, which is not totally
nonsense, since they are the newer ones. But for "normal" KDE users the newer
ones are the wrong ones.

Again not correct. In the directory /etc/profile.d there exists a script called
qt.sh If it looks like the one attached to this mail, everything works.
You won't need the script, just set QTDIR to the correct directory.

You won't need QT-2.0.1 until the official version of KDE2, I guess. But if
you've got enough place, don't remove the qt2 packages. You never know

I don't know what you're doing with your system. You've got some problems
compiling kdk-096 (which included kdbg1.0beta1) but not 'cause that. I have no
problems on my machine compiling any KDE application, and I am working with
RH6.1 AND kdbg1.0.
