Well...no.

rpm -q <packagename> works only if you know the package name. On our systems,
probably typical SuSE 6.1 the qt packages are:
qtcompat-1.44-19
qtlib-1.44-19
qtdevel-1.44-19

rpm -q qt 
therefore simply responds:
package qt is not installed
