Hi,
wanted: a release of 5.6 (or 5.7?) scheduled until including begin of December
(actually in time for KDE Gear 21.12.0), so it can carry a patch which updates
to the KF version of Grantlee (currently WIP), up as draft for now at
https://invent.kde.org/kdevelop/kdevelop/-/merge_requests/264
See https://phabricator.kde.org/T14887 for details of the Grantlee KF import.
Is anyone up to work on such a release?
The challenge here is that the KF Grantlee is not a drop-in replacement, yet
keeps using the same C++ namespace. And KDE software likes to do reuse by
plugins to the same process, so it needs to be avoided to have both Grantlee
and KFGrantlee linked into the same process.
So ideally distributions can swap all packages linking Grantlee against the
KFGrantlee in one go, Which would be something to do once KDE Gear 21.12 is
released, bringing all the main Grantlee users (from PIM) in a KFGrantlee
using version.
Cheers
Friedrich
