I'll have a quick look now, I actually have a bit of free time on my hands 
right now.

The reason they are split was mostly a quality aspect: While the kdev-php 
plugin was properly maintained, xdebug was always a bit of a step child, 
especially since Niko left. It's a sad situation, but I also see that the 
reality is that people use it nevertheless. As such, I think spending some 
time on that plugin would be a good idea. Then merging it into kdev-php could 
also be done - but we also need the executebrowser plugin then - which is also 
not properly released/ported yet afaik...

So, I can't make any promises here. But I'll try to make it compile at least 
and then we can see what to do next. If anyone is willing to step up for 
maintainership, it would be a good idea to get these plugins properly 
released.
