Thanks for your contribution, it's very welcome! I'm adding our devel ML back 
to CC, so others can chime in. I'm not using *buntu based distro for many 
years and can't comment on your article in-depth. Some suggestions:

export MAKEFLAGS=-j12 # set this to whatever your machine is capable of
(instead of repeating this in your scripts)

Please also mention the other kdev* plugins, like kdev-php & kdev-python, 
which can be build following the way you outlined for the other repos.
