Yes, they are, so it's definitely the slave at fault. Opening
  man:(3qt)/QString
in rekonq keeps my CPU at 100% for quite a while.

I looked it up, apparently from Qt3!

  /usr/share/man/man3/QString.3qt.gz is owned by qt3 1:3.3.8b-6
Maybe that's why you can't reproduce it?
