Not saying this isn't useful (navigating tabs is a major pita), but you know about Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab right? Its a tad bit buggy wrt. to the order, presumably because signals from the shell are emitted at the wrong time, but its a list thats relatively quick to navigate even with many files.
