Beta8 Freeze now in effect

Hi,

just a reminder that feature commits are forbidden until Feb 12th. If
you find grave bugs that need fixing for Beta8, please commit asap, I'll
tag+tarball on Feb. 9th. Anything found thereafter needs manual move to
the tag, so lets keep that to the absolute minimum please.
