assertion in mainwindow

Hi,
I've been triggering this assertion when calling:
"ICore.documentController().activeDocument()" (from a python plugin, which
worked before).
Does anybody know what might be causing that or what does that assertion
mean?

I've modified the plugin code just to call that method and I trigger it
already. I'd send a backtrace, but doesn't look useful...
