I've done a test on my old HP laptop (its from 2003, 1.4GHz CPU, 1G RAM,
Intel graphics), with Qt4.5.3 and KDE 4.3.3. There was no noticeable
difference between raster and native graphicsmode on that machine. In
fact it was reasonably fast and I could've actually used kdevelop there.
