I've also wondered about some strange area bugs, they seemed even buggier then 
before. Now I've fixed the problem.

There's one bug left that I notice in the area handling: When switching areas, 
the "edited" state indicator of open documents is not managed correctly.

Apart from that it seems to work ok now.
