Ok, my opinion on the user-version:

Still too crowded. To remedy this you could a) Hide the rightmost column 
with 'picture-corner', 'downloads-per-hour' etc completly. This is not 
critical information from a user standpoint, and accessible from the left 
anyway. b) Introduce whitespace left & right such as on www.kde.org, 
www.koffice.org etc c) unify some of the link positions such as sitemap, 
contact us with the main kde sites.

Generally I think Aleix's idea of a green scheme unified with the rest of KDE 
would look great.
