Projectmanagement with split-view?

Hmm, such a split-view might be more comfortable on the long run, compared to
management only through context-menus.
The split-view could hold some information or actions specific to the item
selected in the tree-view, for example a "build" or "compile" button. That
way the usual build/correct/build/correct cycle might become more
comfortable.
That's just ideas, I don't know whether there are better approaches to those
problems planned. :)
