I somewhat disagree. Those editor actions are there in almost all 
editors (if not all). There is a good reason for them, makes text 
manipulating easy with the mouse. You select something, copy, paste, 
etc. without needing to move the mouse to the toolbar or the menu.
Under X11 you could also use the middlemouse button and not use the 
menu, but if you aim also for Windows, this isn't a solution.
