Find in Files and

I've noticed that if I tell 3.3.94 find-in-files to
'verbatim' search for something like

 blah(

then it errors out with

 egrep: Unmatched ( or \(.

Somehow I rememeber previous versions working
correctly with this but I don't have .

Am I mistaken?
