Getting the current active project

I just answered in the other thread that we could by default use the
selected project (the controller and project view have a tight
relationship anyway) and only ask the user for a project selection when
there's none selected.

OTOH this makes it a bit more work if the user wants to search over
multiple projects, but has one selected already. So I'm not really sure
how to approach this...
