I think the big difference of KDevelop Coding Guidelines and the proposed 
Qt/kdelibs guidelines is that the latter aims to affect all of the code, 
mandatorily. Quoting the KDevelop guidlines

"The original author of the code has the right to define the coding style."

This is what kdelibs want to abolish at the moment.
Maybe the more important question than how to style the code is if all of that 
is a "must" or a "may".
