If you have more time you might look into this:

The problem reporter displays syntax error for any text file you open in 
KDevelop. Let's say I am developing C++ but open an HTML file in the editor 
(not the KHTML part!). I get many, many errors in the problem reporter :-(

Maybe it would be possible to check the mimetype before the parser starts to 
work?
