Are you running gnuserv, XEmacs, Emacs, or anything like that?  I just removed 
all my kdev* config files from ./kde/share/config, killed gnuserv and now 
kdevelop runs fine.  So, if you aren't running gnuserv, etc. try exiting 
KDevelop, backing up, or simply deleting your ./kde/share/config/kdev*, and 
starting KDevelop.
