The reason for the slow feedback is probably because the original output view 
maintainer has left the project and no one has stepped up to formally accept 
responsibility for it yet. So whoever has the time and knowledge to look at 
the patch will hopefully do so.

I applied your patch locally when you posted it to try it out. I haven't 
noticed any bad effects from using it, but hadn't as yet gotten around to 
comitting it. I'm not familiar with the code in question and was kinda hoping 
someone else would be.. :)

Btw, the thing to do when a patch appears to be ignored/forgotten is exactly 
what you did. Remind us. :)
