With Falk's help I've fixed this for kde3.0.5. The breakpoints should work 
properly when using the qeditor, but not with the kate part from 3.0.5. 
Upgrade to kde3.1 or better to fix this.

Update kdevelop again(!) and let me know if you have any further problems.
