Let's stop this discussion, editor comparisons are "off topic".

Vi vs. Emacs takes place as a paintball game during LWCE usually - go
there. 

That said, kvim integration is a good thing. If kvim has trouble
adhering to the KTextEditor interface, too bad. But that's kvim's
problem not KDevelop's.
