cutputwidget.cpp NO! NO! NO!

It sounds like a reasonable idea. But given the fact that this version
of KDevelop is pretty much dead and that all the problems seem to come
from the use of RichText whereas the PlainText feature is reported to
work correctly, I still vote for applying Kuba's patch and discarding
all RichText in this outputwidget. 

I noticed that there is a coutputwidget in HEAD also, are these things
at all relevant for gideon, i.e. does it make sense to make an effort
in fixing things the right way here?
