About kdevelop version.

Hi all,
    About three months ago i made a patch to kdevelop 2.0(come with redhat7.2 distribution), in kdevelop 2.0, it can not display or edit any double-byte based language(such as Chinese),  because the editor in kdevelop 2.0 were wrote based on char, not qchar, so i modified the related source codes and made it works based on qchar,  it works well , i can type Chinese into it, copy/pase, find/replace all works well. the only bug i found was syntax highlight sometimes not works well.
    I wonder what is the editor of current kdevelop based  on? i heared of someone sugguested useing kate as kdevelops editor, is it sure?
