I'd looked at the output of a cvs diff and had seen:

Which isn't quite correct. But surely those fields could be fixed, except 
that there shouldn't be a problem. I've used kdevelop 2 in cvs of some of my 
projects and this wouldn't be so different. It's a bit large here (>200k), 
but looks like it's not a big deal.

The differences shouldn't be too large although the project is updated and 
there aren't that many file additions/removals, and those take effect only 
when the project file is actually modified (by those who use it).

I'd already removed that file but I think we could put back in a file named 
properly (such as kdevelop-3.0.kdevprj or gideon.kdevprj). As Falk says, it's 
not a bad idea.

It's also kind of proof-of-concept. Using kdevelop to develop kdevelop, and 
it works with CVS too. :)
