That sounds a bit harsh to me - if you prefer the old KDevelop 3.0, and think
you can do at least as good a job as Bernd, then go ahead and carry on working
on it.
Bernd has given us a new option to make KDevelop 3.0 happen quicker, but we will
only adopt it if we think it is better than the current plan. So he has taken a
risk (what if we were to turn him down?), and should be admired in my opinion.
If this was a closed source project with 'managers' (remember them), we wouldn't
have the option to pull off this sort of stunt at all.
I've only just recently checked in a lot of stuff to KDevelop 3.0, which I will
have to redo. I will have to do extra work too now, but if the end result
justifies it, then I'm still happy.
