That is what I doubt. The code may be suboptimal, I believe its worth
saving.

Agreed.

Well, also agreed

Yes, it could, but you and virtually anybody on this list keep saying
that it needs about 3 to 4 developers working about 6 months to make it
beta quality.
If I do understand that correctly, why dont we rejoin forces and try to
incorporate some of the fantastic ideas into the kdevelop-1.4 branch.

For example, instead making everything a plugin in KDevelop-3, make one
thing in KDevelop-1.4 a plugin, compilers for example, end up with a
working version of how it works, iron out all the bugs and shortcomings
and there you go. Not only do you have a proof of concept, you have a
*working* application, you have shown that your concept really works
and you have the stress test on top of it.

Then, instead of tackling 8-10 tasks at once, you, or someone else will
move on and attack the next problem.

The trick here is to restructure and modularize the current code a bit.
Nothing that could not really be done if we wanted to do it.

Agreed, again, that's what can and should be done on this mailing list.

So lets get the ball rolling.

I really hope so. As always time will tell, and although I may sound
like I dont like your approach, I want you and the other developers to
know that I very much appreciate all the work that you have done for
me and all the other users of KDevelop.
