Hmmm, you are partly right. Comparing the usability of KDE 2.2.x(!) with the
one of Windows 2000 or XP, KDE looses, because of speed, memory usage and
integration. I think what these "KDE vs. Win" - Contests write, is a lie.
But you don't have to forget, where Linux stood from 6 years ago. And this
comparsion is more interesting :-).

Did you have a look at the version number of Gideon?
I listened to a talk today at our university about "Extreme Programming" and
under this topic software which hasn't been tested and verified by the user,
does simply not exist.
That means Gideon doesn't exist yet, therefore it neither has no inconsistent
GUI, nor too many plug-ins... :-).
For my self: I try to help because I don't have nothing better to do and I
think there should exist some alternatives.
I don't want to compete to Microsoft. Not *really*.
So continue "kickin' asses and chewin' bubble gum!" :-)
Btw.: What I have said about Gideon is MY opinion and NOT that of the team or
so.
