Subject: kdevelop crashes after update to 2.0
From: pbu397 at compuserve.de

Package: kdevelop
Version: 2.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.2
OS/Compiler notes:

kdevelop crashes after update to 2.0,
when there is a file <Project-Name>.devses from a former version of kdevelop in the project directory.

Ok, this file should possibly not be there, but it not a good idea to crash without any warnings or trace-information.

As i already suggested some months ago, any KDE-app that uses special configuration files should add a line to it that holds the version of the app that created/modified that file. Before reading ( and trusting) the contents it should compare this version-information to its own to see if the contents could be considered usefull and valid, or outdated and possibly unreliable.

When kdevelop 2.0 runs, it looks realy GREAT!!! Especially the new feature to have more than just one editor-window is what i missed in the previous versions.
