Subject: Kdevelop debugger does not display character strings
From: ralphbel at us.ibm.com

Package: kdevelop
Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Red Hat Linux 7.0
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-79)
OS: Linux 2.2.17-8smp i686
OS/Compiler notes:

Using the watch window in the integrated debugger in Kdevelop does not show the contents of a variable declared as char *. It neither shows its address or the string contents. The Kdbg application does display this correctly kind of variable as a character string.
