Subject: generate tags fails - ctags reports error
From: alan at chandlerfamily.org.uk

Package: kdevelop
Version: 2.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 beta1)
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20010319 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.6-pre8
OS/Compiler notes:

When loading a project (admittedly after kdevelop had crashed) it reported that there "no tags file in project directory" and asked if I would like one.

I said yes - but ctags generates the following error in the message window

ctags: option `--append' doesn't allow an argument
Try `ctags --help' for a complete list of options.
*** failed ***
