You should really have a look at the docviewman class in kdevelop2
first. It's all there, and it works (almost) perfectly well. Falk, has
put lots and lots of hours of testing and improving into this. 

What we need really need is much improvement on the "view" part of the
texteditor. Whatever it is called KWriteView or KateView who cares? 

Improve the view (e.g. regular expression searching, scripting) then
have docviewman manage the document and the widget and be done w/it.
