Vonda is our office manager. Her answers to your questions are:

She does nothing to save emails. Kmail automatically uses a kde folder.

She thinks she has write permission as other documents (other than kmail) save
fine.

The problem is with all emails as she can't get the normal screen which shows
emails sent and received to show.

No, she has not applied updates or changes recently.

WHAT WE DID AS A POSSIBLE WORK-AROUND WAS TO take her machine out of
service and give her a newer computer. We uploaded her programs, including
kmail, on the new computer. Now when she turns on kmail she gets the following
NEW error.

"The email program encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:

Could not create collection outbox, resourceld 14"

One further thought: We have another computer in the office that also won't do
kmail (never has), so the secretary on that machine has to use still another
computer to send email (we have several computers, all linux debian running
Kmail). Both of those machines (Vonda's new computer and the other secretary's
computer) say that they are "not connected to the internet", but they ARE
connected to the internet. This may relate to the fact that some of our computers
connect to the internet router wirelessly and some by wire.

Axel, does any of this lead you to any further suggestions?

We have hired another IT guy to help us here. He won't be able to get here until
2pm tomorrow afternoon (Reno Nevada time).

John
