Issues in Kontact with email sending and calendars

Dear all,
I am a happy user of Kontact and I would to use it with full satisfaction, but 
there are still at least a couple of issues that are a real obstacle for me. I 
do not want to use other solutions (Thunderbird or Evolution, which are 
great), but I want to remain with Kontact.

My email provider is Google with Gmail.

The first problem is that, when I open Kontact for the first time after the 
login into the system, I am able to send email, but after awhile I cannot send 
any message. In order to send messages I have to restart Akonadi. This is 
really annoying. Do you know if this problem will be fixed and when? There's an 
open issue here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421664

The second problem is that, for the second time during some months, Kontact 
has lost all my calendars based on the same account in Gmail. The email is 
still working, while the calendars have gone away, totally disappeared. Why 
this? Some months ago, when this problem occurred for the first time, I was 
able to restore them, but I don't remember how. Do you know how I can restore 
my calendars?

Now, Kontact is a great piece of software, I really love it, but I need to 
work with it without these type of problems.
